Abstract:
We present results of a recent survey implemented by Johnson County Community College that included questions about online Foreign Language instruction. Next we explain how we created JCCC’s first online Foreign Language course. We describe evaluation of student outcomes and how we are using that information to ensure parity between online and traditional courses. Finally, we discuss our conclusions with respect to the development of future online courses.

They will learn techniques used in the delivery of a foreign language online class. Presented will be methods employed that are designed to increase parity between online and traditional face-to-face language courses. Many of the strategies that will be discussed can be applied to other courses.
